I love taking pictures.  My inspiration for photography began in high school where I leaned the aspects of photography and developing film and pictures by hand in my first photography class.  From this point and on, I always had an enthusiasm for photography.  After Highschool I took more photography courses in college and worked for various studios and photo labs where I learned the technical aspects of photo processing and photography.

I really enjoy interfacing with clients, and I strive to make myself easy to work with.  While working in the photo industry, I learned how to take on changeling situations while maintaining a composed and friendly approach.  I understand there can be stressful moments for anyone who is in front of a camera.  That’s why I will be particularly patient and calm while working with my clients.  The last thing they want is for the photographer to get stressed and start getting agitated during a shoot.  I do not get stressed easily and I will go out of my way to put the client at ease.

I really enjoy taking pictures of individuals and groups of people.  I converse with my clients and direct them for how they should position themselves.  I am very comfortable with communicating with my clients and will always let them know what to do.  I understand how it can be awkward when they are in front of the camera and are not directed how to stand or position themselves.  So, relax and let me take care of all the details in getting that special occasion shot that makes everyone look great.

While shopping for a photographer, there are many aspects to consider.  One very important quality that I believe you should look for is how well your photographer interacts with you.  No matter how great he/she is, if you are not comfortable with your photographer, it will show in your pictures.  Why have your pictures ruined just because the photographer was not capable in working with you to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable.

Steve Barr Photography can shoot portraits on location or in studio.  On-location portraits capture a special feeling when photographed at a favorite location. Outside scenery and foliage also adds dramatic feeling.  Pictures taken inside a studio allow for shooting inside a control and comfortable environment.  No wind, rain or hot/cold weather to worry about.  Shooting inside a studio also allows for outfit changes for a variety of pictures.  So, if you prefer to have a session that offers more privacy, controlled environment, comfort, various outfit changes, a studio session might be more desirable for you.

I would like to share some personable info about myself.  My wife and I live in Urbana md., and we have a daughter who is married and a son in high school.  We also have 3 cats named Oreo, Pepper, and Daisy.  We really love the aspects of family life and have many cherished memories.
